Guardian Angel FAQ

What devices can I use with Guardian Angel?

Guardian Angel can be used with any phone that has bluetooth. All smartphones should be able to connect and pair without any issues.

My phone won't pair, what do I do?

If you can't successfully pair your phone using Guardian Angel, try using the bluetooth pairing option in System Preferences. Once your device is paired, you should then be able to select it within Guardian Angel.

I don't have my phone, and Guardian Angel has locked my Mac! How do I get back in?

Calm down! Do you remember that password that you set when you set up Guardian Angel? Just give you mouse a wiggle and type it in. Your Mac will unlock and it won't re-lock until you tell it to or it finds your phone again.

I've forgotten my password, and my phone isn't connected to my Mac. How do I get back in?

If you can't remember your password and don't have your phone handy to let you back in, you can reboot your Mac in safe-mode by holding down the Shift key at boot. Open the Keychain Access app, delete your Guardian Angel password and then reboot your machine to get back in.

When I view the allowed range in preferences, my phone jumps around a little. Have you invented teleportation, or is something else going on?

This may sometimes happen due to the fluctuating signal strength of the bluetooth connection which Guardian Angel uses to judge the distance of your phone from your computer.

I have a really cool idea for a new feature, could you implement it?
